Problema prezinta interes si prin faptul ca aceste materiale dure, nemetalice: diamant, n.c.b., corindonul, carborundul, cuartul, oxidul de Al aglomerat, carbura de bor aglomerata etc. pot inlocui in constructia de scule, cat si in alte domenii, materialele dure metalice sau, in alte cazuri, pot fi combinate cu ele.Mod de obtinereDin oxidul de Al si alte tipuri de oxizi, se obtin placute mineralo-ceramice si scule care permit sa se aschieze materialele cu viteze de 500-1200 m/min. si chiar mai mari. Aceste placute se obtin din pulbere de oxid de Al cu o granulatie foarte fina functie de marca placutei care a evoluat in timp, fapt ce a adus la imbunatatirea proprietatilor fizico-mecanice ale placutelor ceramice. Aceasta pulbere de oxid de Al se amesteca foarte bine si omogen cu un liant ca: ulei oleic, celuloza, metale, etc. Acest amestec este presat in matrite de diferite forme, la rece sau la cald, in functie de aglomeratul de oxid de Al, la un timp optim de 2-10 minute, in functie de marimea piesei. De mentionat ca timpul de sinterizare are o mare influenta asupra caracteristicilor pieselor. Dpa sinterizare produsele obtinute sunt rectificate, rodate sau lepuite si apoi sortate. Dar cele mai bune rezultate au inceput sa fie obtinute in constructia de scule aschietoare cu materiale mineralo-ceramice obtinute din amestecarea oxidului de Al, cu oxidul de zirconiu, cu carbura de titan sau alte compozitii chimice.Sunt si alte tipuri de placute metalo-ceramice care sunt de fapt placute din carburi metalice acoperite cu un strat de 0,4-0,5 mm de oxid de Al. Steam tempering can be applied to any bright tool but is most effective on drills and taps&lt;br /&gt;Titanium Aluminium Nitride Coating (TiAlN)/Aluminium Titanium Nitride&lt;br /&gt;   Coating (AlTiN)&lt;br /&gt;Titanium Aluminium Nitride is a multi layer ceramic coating applied by PVD coating technology, which exhibits high toughness and oxidation stability. These properties make it ideal for higher speeds and feeds, whilst at the same time improving tool life. TiAlN is suitable for drilling and tapping. It is recommended to use TiAlN when machining dry.&lt;br /&gt;   Bronze Finish&lt;br /&gt;The bronze finish is a thin oxide layer formed on the tool surface and it is applied principally to Cobalt high speed steels.&lt;br /&gt;   TiAlN - X&lt;br /&gt;TiAlN – X is a Titanium Aluminium Nitride coating, which incorporates the latest developments in surface coating technology.
